As a Catholic organization, the National Catholic Rural Life Conference applies the teachings of Jesus Christ for the social and economic development of rural America with responsibility for the care of Gods creation.
We express our mission by:
Proclaiming the Gospel through word and action in the context of rural life and concerns.
Nurturing the rural community of the faithful, the fellowship of believers who worship together and share their lives, their possessions and Gods creation in common.
Building NCRLC as a community of the people of God including the reception of new members, the welcoming back of former and current members as well as guaranteeing future house management, or stewardship, through the development and wise use of community resources.
Reaching out and serving the rural Church personally and communally, locally and globally.
Engaging in and facilitating the forms of prayer, worship, and spirituality through which God is revealed to rural faithful.
We fulfill this mission through five functional areas:
1. Establishing and assisting a grassroots and diocesan network of advocates devoted to rural concerns.
2. Providing resources for the educational benefit and spiritual development of rural people.
3. Advocating at public policy levels for social, economic, and environmental justice in rural concerns.
4. Collaborating with Catholic, ecumenical, interfaith and secular organizations at local, state, national, and international levels.
5. Acquiring and maintaining resources -- human, financial, capital -- necessary to carry out our mission and be a viable Catholic organization.
