Food for Life: The Spirituality and Ethics of Eating

By Shannon Jung

In this new book, author Shannon Jung addresses how food disorders keep
us from fullydelighting in the life God intended for us. Jung recognizes that these
disorders are aproduct of global, cultural and interpersonal disorders, not simply
an individual’s issue to be dealt with in isolation.

"Food for Life" attempts to explain why people become disordered and how,
throughfaith, Christian practices, and intentional activities such as gardening
and cooking, theycan redirect their desires and lives toward a healthier order
of living.

[Shannon Jung is Director of the Center for Theology and Land and Professor
of RuralMinistry at Wartburg Theological Seminary and the University of Dubuque
Theological Seminary.]
